Seeing as I've doubled my results from upgrading from a AXP 1800+ to a Mobile 2500+ oc'ed to 2431 mhz this game is HEAVILY dependent on your cpu.

I'm actually a bit disappointed. I had a bunch of stuff open (xmms, browsers, stuff in background) but still.

P4 2.4c w/ 865pe

gforce fx5600 128mb

Maybe I should focus on optimizing my system. I almost never play games and have it setup for desktop responsiveness.

Hi Digital,
Did you try the Openal and SDL tweaks in this thread ?

Your score seems right for that class of card, the Nvidia cards arn't too fast but they at least have good compatibility in linux..

And UT is very, very CPU limited, especially in Botmatch Benchmarks. You will find that your score will shoot right up in a flyby benchmark..

thanks

For those of you in the need of a good laugh...

Athlon XP 1800+ - 512 RAM - Radeon 9800

Using ati-drivers-3.2.8-r1

2.602512 / 11.148431 / 54.048065 fps -- Score = 11.149428 rand[1814308868]

I'm pretty sure that they have changed the meaning of fps to frames per minute. It's like watching a hong-kong action flick. :D

It's pretty much unplayable if I wanted to host my own match (I'd love to try a flyover benchmark - it's not this bad during online play). I'll tryout replacing those files and start trying to optimize this damned ATi driver. I've really want to get this working, I feel this need to buy the Linux version so we can start getting good native versions of games. Boy, with scores like this, it'll be tough to justify it...

I'll post as I try these things out

I think it's minimum/average/maximum and we're talking frames per second of course.

Yes, you could try turning down your resolution if you have it cranked up, could be bottlenecking on the video card if you have it high enough.

I spent a few hours today going through all the default.ini options trying to speed things up and unfortunately I didn't find any magic options that made much of difference that aren't already in the setup options. The only weird thing I ran into was turning coronas _off_ resulted in a drop in fps by 4.7, no idea why this would happen and I repeated the test several time with it on and off just to make sure.

Pardon my extreme ignorance, butI can't find a benchmark script anywhere and this dm-rankin command isn't anywhere either.

How are you all doing these benchmarks?

That's at 800x600 with my gentoo-compiled libSDL and OpenAL, with 5336-r1 nvidia-kernel driver.. rather disappointing. I guess there's not much more I can do about it.
