Hi
With the Gentoo2004 style release plan I was thinking that it would be nice to have openBSD style (http://www.openbsd.org/lyrics.html) release songs. I'm no musician so I can't do it myselft but there ought to be someone with some talent out there?
Or is this not suitable since gentoo users "always" have their systems up to date and don't really install releases?

there was actually a thread about this a while ago. basically, it got a lot of response, but no one wrote any songs (stopped reading it a while ago though, so maybe someone has...). i think it is mainly due to the fact that it never got very well organized.

Talking about Free Music and Open Source, I couldn't but recall the excellent Luther Blissett CD. You Italians out there will recognize that name. Yes, the Multiple Name, the Open Personality, the Free Persona has made a CD and it's available for download for free on the net. The CD is titled "Luther Blisset: The Open Pop Star" (Yes, "open" as is "open source").

As explained on the website :
Quote:
No Copyright for situations whose activity is explicitly oriented to take relations, pleasures, loves, wealth, ideas and styles out of the ideological rule of capital. RECLAIM!"

As a personal note, I strongly suggest you listen to the _Monty Cantsin_ song (if I can call that a song).

Geez, you guys "gentooed" it! I can't reach the server, I get a 503. Only a couple of minutes after posting about Luther Blissett. Wheew, hope you liked it while it last. :)
I guess 10 people downloading 10 mp3s at the same time was too much for such a small webserver. *sigh*

Hell no!
I just don't think a release song would make a difference.
