I've installed gentoo but my cron.{hourly|daily|weekly|monty|etc} isnt runing as far as I can tell ... I wrote a script to do a backup, but its not running. It works fine if I run the script expclicitly.
I did 'crontab /etc/crontab' as root and 'crontab -l' yields the expceted results.
I also can run 'run-crons' and it exectuts the script fine
anyknow know whats wrong?
I would be greatfull if someone could help
Thanks!

though it isn't in the install manual you have to add it with "rc-update add dcron default" and if you don't want to reboot run "/etc/init.d/dcron start" _________________ "Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." |
