I've searched and can't find an answer to this question. Perhaps it's too simple and obvious:
Whenever I launch a browser (opera, galeon, mozilla) in Flux, the browser's left and right borders maximize to the edge of the screen, which I like, but the bottom border slightly overlaps the toolbar, which I don't like. If I click the maximize button in the top right corner, the border shifts to the top edge of the toolbar, which I like.
Now, is there any way for the bottom border of the browser or any app to automatically meet the top edge of the toolbar and not overlap it when I first launch the app?
Thanks! _________________ Erich J. Wahl

I no longer have a default menu, but look for a Configuration menu, then deselect 'Maximize Over Slit'. I think that might be what you are looking for. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Thanks for the help. My slit is on the left and toolbar on the bottom. I tried that and it doesn't apply to the toolbar. I can't find anything in the config files that controls window position with relation to the toolbar. _________________ Erich J. Wahl

Interesting. What about the 'Full Maximization' option? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

If your looking for a way to have fluxbox remember the position and size of windows so when you launch them they are immediately where you want them, then there is currently nothing built into fluxbox to allow this (on the wanted fluxbox features topic, this was one of the more popular ideas). However, a lot of programs have their own command line options for assigning initial geometry. It is usually something along the lines of: Code: | galeon -g 800x800+526+14 |
which would open galeon at a window size of 800x800 at x position 526 and y position 14. Take a look through the man pages for your programs to see if they have a similar command. _________________ Kawada
