Very odd. I forget why, but I disbanded that one and created the current one. I just tried the 'disband' function and received this message:

The team you tried to edit does not exist. Please go back and try again.

I'll mess around with it some more and see if I can make it go away. Thanks for pointing that out.

Doesn't anyone else think that SETI@Home is just an _EVIL_ alien plot to make us use up our planet's natural resources faster, thus making us less of a threat?

STOP USING SETI@HOME NOW!!!!!

delta407 is up to 465 results as of this post. If you catch this in time, could you give us another update at the 500 mark (member hours, cpu hours, etc.)?

I'm not there yet, but some quick math says it ought to be at 675 hours of membership and 5200 hours of CPU time.

I'll hit it either late tonight or early tomorrow... hmm... in either case, I'm probably going to be asleep. I'll post the e-mail when I wake up. ;)

Woohoo!

I'm currently at 500 work units complete, in 5221 CPU hours and four weeks of membership, averaging 7.8 CPUs working at any given time. (I expect to complete my next 500 in three weeks unless something changes... I might get forty more Pentium II's.)

Currently crunching includes, but is not limited to the following computers:
  • Dual 1.0 GHz Pentium III [Home]
  • 1.0 GHz Athlon Tbird [Home]
  • 1.4 GHz Athlon XP 1600+
  • 800 MHz Cyrix III (offline now... stupid thing) [Home]
  • 733 MHz Pentium III
  • 450 MHz Pentium II
  • 450 MHz Pentium II (a different one)
  • 400 MHz Pentium II
  • 350 MHz Pentium II
  • 233 MHz Pentium II

It's not amazing, it's simply the advantage of having a bunch of machines at your disposal. ;)

In related news, SETI@home recently passed the four million user mark, 94% of whom have completed fewer work units than I. Muwhahaha... :D

nod, I'm having enough trouble trying to decide on an upgrade/replacement route for one machine.

We will bid Arecibo a fond farewell, and welcome Parkes with rejuvinated enthusiasm. Moving from Puerto Rico to Australia.

Put it on your reminder list to upgrade your software.

Well, 24 hours since last post, my horde of lower-middle-class machines has turned in another 28 work units. Yay for hordes!

Edit: make that 29 work units. ;)
