I have a set of classics leftover from a project and thought that I'd start a long time project with gentoo installs. It's cold here now and I can use a few extra heat sources afterall.
It takes 3 days to run the stage1 bootstrap, as a microsparc you can use
CFLAGS='-mcpu=v8 -O2 -pipe'
I've compiled lots of stuff under Splack with -O3, but didn't mess with that on a first build.
We've got about 30 of these kicking around, so some cheap cluster and network experiments are possible. Mixmaster is what I have in mind. _________________ Being a Gentoo user means living in a house inhabited by a family of crazed carpenters. When you wake up, the house is different.
