|
|
I have just installed Gnome2 on a clean Gentoo installation, and so far it seems to be running perfectly. I wanted to install some more apps, such as XMMS and Mozilla, however when I did an emerge --pretend, I saw that portage wanted to install some older gnome 1.4 packages, such as GTK 1.2 and gnome-panel 1.4. I was wondering If this is OK, since I don't want it to override my Gnome 2 libraries! |

I got rid of the problem you describe by putting USE="-gnome" in /etc/make.conf. |
