Hi,
After a nightmarish day spent to figure out how to configure my printer with CUPS (the best part of it was spent finding out I had to compile parallel port support into my kernel), I succeeded in printing out a correct test page (looks nice, yeah).
Problem: Everytime I try to print either with KEdit or KWord, the same thing happens. Trying to open the "Print" menu causes the application to freeze, and I have to kill it (Ctrl+Alt+Escape -> skull -> duh!)
Strange thing: Mozilla printed this page OK (though awfully slow, but I won't be difficult about that)
Now what?
Niki (clueless)
PS: since I have a ten-page-translation to finish and print out for tomorrow, this is a rather annoying problem... |

It was the same for me,
I compiled kdebase and kdelibs without the -funroll-loops flag and it was fine (didn't freeze, but it was slow and I cann't print with cups and kde (nothing happend). So I used Lprng and it was OK
Hope it helps |
