Hi,

I've installes gentoo from stage I and I've come to an end at least. Everything works fine at the moment except of the cdrom.

There are no device nodes neither for cdrom nor scd0 or sr0 or anything similar.

Kernel Option is appendet with "hdb=ide-scsi", in fstab I've mounted
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

Kernel messages:
Jan 29 16:35:57 irmin SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
Jan 29 16:35:35 irmin hdb: SONY CD-RW/DVD-ROM CRX820E, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
Jan 29 16:35:35 irmin hdb: Enabling Ultra DMA 2
Jan 29 16:35:35 irmin devfs: v1.12c (20020818) Richard Gooch (rgooch@atnf.csiro.au)
Jan 29 16:35:35 Jan 29 16:35:35 irmin Kernel command line: root=/dev/hda3 ro hdb=ide-scsi
Jan 29 16:35:35 irmin ide_setup: hdb=ide-scsi
irmin devfs: boot_options: 0x1

All drivers are loaded as to see here:

bash-2.05b# lsmod
Module Size Used by Not tainted
sg 29716 0 (unused)
sr_mod 15684 0 (autoclean) (unused)
cdrom 29856 0 (autoclean) [sr_mod]
sd_mod 12460 0 (autoclean) (unused)
scsi_mod 83856 3 (autoclean) [sg sr_mod sd_mod]

Any idea?

Thanks

tristan
