Success report

Hi all,

I finally successfully install gentoo in my Amilo D laptop, this is what I have:

I start with gentoo-1.3b-stage1 and install:
gentoo kernel
Gnome 2
fluxbox
Mozilla
Alsa (that was a "§$) but now is working
mpeg321
open office (from sources)
amsn
gnapster

I have some problems using xine, it hangs with the whole system using both gnome and fluxbox ... it shows the main window and then total system hang, no ctrl-alt-backspace, no console swtching ... nothing just dead, from what i see is trying to use xv library .... any suggestions to fix that? or another player ... I am specially interested in run DiVx.

BTW this is a really good work. I was specially amaze that I could play mp3, run gnapster, mozilla and emerge xine at the same time without any complaints from my system ... and no problems with the sound.

The success of an installation isn't support related, so I'm moving it to the Chat forum. Also, it is a good idea to seperate topics within a post (install success/xine problems). If you search the forums for an answer to your xine problem and don't find a solution, you might try posting just the xine problem into the Multimedia forum.

Also, if you registered I could send you a message telling you the new location of this thread.
