Anyone know of one? I'm thinking of subscribing to itunes, but I don't have an ipod, and in any case I'd like to be able to play the downloaded aac files on my linux desktop too. I presently use juk which supports ogg and my few mp3 files, but as far as I can tell does not support aac. Any ideas?

Thanks.

The AAC files from ITMS use DRM. I think that vlc can play these, but you need the license file, which it will save if you play your music with the windows version of vlc.

Gstreamer 0.7x claims to be able to play aac files. (I only see 0.6.x in portage however). Since juk uses or can use gstreamer we should get aac-support soon.

Meanwhile I've been using mplayer to play my iTunes-AAC-encoded library.

I did see a gstreamer 0.7 ebuild somewhere around here but I didn't have the skills to add it manually to my portage.

faad allows aac/mp[eg]4 playback so anything with a faad USE flag should be able to do it. i know rhythmbox with USE="faad" does.
