Has anyone worked out a way to install IE6 on this release of Wine? I know it worked in the version before this one...And I dont feel like changing to the older version of wine because it makes my games cosiderably slower...

Here is a HowTo for Steam + Wine + IE6...
(there's also a link for the ie6-install-script)
http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=17

I tried that one.. Installation of IE6 worked and IE6 starts OK,
but it won't show any website.

Steam installation worked too, but updating steam was a problem..
It hangs at 26%; this is a known bug of Steam and there are ways to get rid of it.. but that didn't work for me...

Seems that I have to wait for a new version of Steam or wine...

:(

I tried it yesterday and it really worked fine. Seems that Steam really needs the IE 6 installaed.

Hmm ... mine does ... did nothing special to achieve it. (Check the screenshot)

Hmm ... I hat that problem at first to. But after restarting Steam it updatet completely.

I also took the "normal" Steam-Installer and downloaded the full Day Of Defeat within Steam. 90k ... rockz!

I could also play Day Of Defeat. Worked really well. Only our Clan Server kicked (almost banned) me, saying somthing like "Linux Client detected ... banning in 10 ... 9 ... 8). I wonder what that is. :-?

Here the screenschot. I have plenty more!

Maybe we should check the difference between your and my wine-config.
