I've got a wierd problem. When entering gnome the gnome load screen doesn't dissapear even after loading all of the apps. Clicking on it makes it dissapear. But whenever this ocurs, loging out is impossible until about 4-5minutes after login. So if I click logout right after I clicked the load window, it'll just wait for a few minutes, then normaly logout.
Do I have something set up the wrong way? _________________ "Does anybody know my name?" -me after a wild night |

i have the exact same thing, and other than what you described, there doesn't seem to be any negative effects. having to click the window to get it to disappear is annoying at the most, and something i can live with. the not being able to log out for a few minutes has me wondering what could be happening, but again, it's annoying at the most - unless you're in a hurry i guess......... |

So it's not just me? Hmm. I know the thing is annoying at most, and if I'm in a hurry ctrl+alt+backspace will do the job, but I'm wondering what is causing this... Maybe a gnome service is not starting correctly... _________________ "Does anybody know my name?" -me after a wild night |

i guess one option would be to set your system monitor to open on logging in, and watch that for a process taking an excessive amount of cpu power for a long time. not sure if this would really help much, but seems a viable option. |
