I'm interested in what a lot of you are paying for Gasoline or Diesel. Please put the price per unit and the name (or brand) of fuel and octane rating if possible. Also what it went into would be interesting as well. I'm kinda interested to see how gas prices affect our vehicles that we own.
Code:
When: Jan 19 2004
Place/Brand: QT (Quicktrip), Arlington, Texas USA
Total: $36.00
Price/unit: $1.59 per Gallon ($0.42/liter)
Octane: 93 (Premium Fuel) (I normally don't buy it)
Vehicle: 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 5.2L engine

At most gas stations in the US there are 3 grades of fuel
Regular 87 Octane
Mid-Grade 89 Octane
Premium (aka Super) 92 or 93 Octane.

I live in the UK where we pay almost extortionate prices for fuel.
75.something pence per litre.
I drive a 1043cc 1989 polo.

I ride a 1983 Volkswagen Golf 1600cc Diesel and pay around 70 eurocents per liter. The car is quite efficient however, so I can drive about 20 kilometers on a liter (5 litres on 100 kilometers to put it in a format that is more commonly used). Diesel in general is more efficient that gasoline.

You should however take into account that you pay more taxes for a diesel in the Netherlands, so that the breaking point (from which it becomes cheaper to buy a diesel) is around 20.000 km per year.

O yeah, just to be complete:

I belief the price of gasoline a bit above 105 eurocents per liter here.
that's for normal fuel (octane 92). Super fuel is a little more expensive (96 octane).
This is a little higher than in the US, but European cars usually have a higher compression ratio.

I don't think this is too expensive however, because I think that there should be a reasonable, equally expensive alternative (train, bus) to the car, especially in a crowded country as the Netherlands is.

1 Gallon -> ~ 5.05$

£30 ~ $54

That would be alright if my car wasn't so fuckin' dinky. Gas is so expensive - I can't wait until I can get a hybrid or an electric motor.l

whats a "gallon"?? how much is that in litres?

I payed 100SKR last And first time i purchased bensin, i got 10.95 litres :)
100SKR is about 10? and i think it was 8-9 or maybe now 7$ (the $ is getting weaker compared to?)
95.

the prices usualy are 1?/l in sweden or just about 1.25$/l

seems its the same in germany

this morning my theacher noted how it costed 0.75SKR (75öre) for a litre bensin before 1973 something !!1 (history class, studying Japan and how the oil crises affected it)

I think last time I paid around $18 for a tank (about $1.50 a gallon). I usually get 320-360 miles per tank depending on city/highway driving.

Simple math will confirm that. Note: These are American gallons not British gallons which are slightly different.

Gas prices in the US used to be about $0.25 to $0.30 per gallon in the early 1970s. The cheapest I have seen it in my lifetime was $0.79 once.

Hmm I think I usually pay about $1.35/gallon (so about 36 cents a liter) for 87 octane. It takes about $14-$15 to fill up my 2001 Honda Civic.

Last time I got gas, it was about $1.50 per gallon for 87 octane. It takes about $25 to fill up my truck's gas tank, and I don't know how many miles that gets me (not too many), but I usually buy gas about once a week. I usually just get $20 worth, whether that fills me up or not.
