I'm not sure if this is the right forum but here goes anyway.
I thought I would install tuxracer and see what it was like. I went to run it and I was getting about 1fps. Now I know I only have an i740 with 8Mb of RAM but it should be able to do better than this.
I'm guessing it is an OpenGL thing? Does the i740 come with hardware support for OpenGL? Do I have to muck around with my USE variables?
What do I need to do to get the fps up to a reasonable level? |

No, take a look at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/README.i740

Buy a graphicscard with Hardware-OpenGL Support
Take a look at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/README.DRI for cards with direct rendering opengl support.
You could also use any NVIDIA-based card newer than Riva128, e.g. Riva TNT or TNT2 or better... |
