I have a small sound issue in KDE. When I start KDE I don't get any
of the system sounds until I run an app like XMMS or the aRts Control
Tool... then sounds work fine. It's like the sound server needs to be
kick-started...
I have checked the "Start aRts soundserver on KDE startup" option
and it is selected.
I'm using the EMU10K1 kernel module (compiled from Creative CSV
source) and emu-tools, but it wouldn't work with the standard kernel
module in 2.4.18 either.
Any ideas? |

Thanks Taskara... I've been out of town for a week, but here's the URL
for the Creative Linux drivers:
http://opensource.creative.com/
I'll just keep playing...
I have one of the very earliest SB Live cards and have noticed over the
years that it sometimes seems to "go to sleep" (under various OSes) and
only start playing sound again when you put a reasonably loud sound
through it.... very strange.... may be time for me to update to another
card. |
