where to set Games(OpenGL) Resolution globally?

When I played games direct after installation without changes in the their configs, they had been set to 640x480 automatically, but it was possible to set them to higher resolution in there config files. So I would like to know: Is there a position in XF86Config or anywhere else where I can define the "games-resolution" globally??

To get a game to run in the desired resolution, take out undesired resoulutions from your XF86Config.
