i started my intern and thire system is all windows, they lock the network and i dnt know how to join the network. i know the network name and have access to the server. they dnt have an admin anymore so can someone tell me how to join the windows server (and example will be nice) _________________ Live And Learn. |

erm could you be more specific and possibly type more clearly? Who's they? I'm guessing you have the only linux system on some network and are having trouble getting internet to work but i need a bit more info to tell you what to do. What's the specific problem? Are you using dhcp or what? What do you mean by locked network with no administrator? |

i cant access the net, when i type dhcpcd it wont detect my net. so im thinking it just the network coz they are all on a workgroup, i did try to boot a windows system from my other laptop but i still cant connect to there internet so im guessing i need to use samba to connect to there server or something like that.
when i try to start samba its sayin
bash-2.05b# /etc/init.d/samba start
* Starting samba...
lpstat: Unable to connect to server: Connection refu [ ok ]
