Just installed gentoo. It is working great. However I really miss my mscorefonts. Does gentoo have a package I can emerge to get them?

Nate

I dont know about any ebuild for this. However, you can read this thread:

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=4825

It helps you with anti-aliasing and how to install truetype fonts. Just do what is said there and copy your *.ttf from your favorite windows source and install them in either a seperate directory or, if your sloppy and lazy like me in :

/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/

hope this helps,

Anton.

what desktop are you using with gentoo?...if kde try entering the control center---->look and feel---->fonts and adjusting the selection your using from there...if you have the helvetica installed you should look for something better , each selection previews the type in the little window...in mozilla it helps with some webpages to set the minimum font size to like 12...this will do away with bring up a webpage that you cant read.

rommel thanks for the help. I use e (sometimes e17). I can configure the fonts for my apps. I just like some of the mscore fonts. Previous threads on the topic always deevolved into a debate on the freeness or legality of using the fonts. I wanted to know if an ebuild existed.
