Hi

Why do i need tcl/tk to update portage? I don't want to install X, because i can't work with it.

You must have tcltk turned on in your make.conf, or it is turned on by default, I'm not sure. In any case you can add
Code:
USE="-tcltk"
to your /etc/make.conf file to prevent this from happening. To upgrade portage, you need to upgrade python, and if you check python's ebuid file, it lists tcltk as a conditional dependence.

Hope this helps.
