"Permission Denied" when using Fdisk to try *SOLVED*

Hey all,

I'm giving gentoo my first shot and I got stuck trying to format my HD using the minimal installation CD.

Whenever I try to access any of the partitions, I get a "permission denied" error.

I've tried:

/dev/hda, /dev/hda1, etc

Same thing everytime. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks a bunch guys.

Ok, first hurdle jumped.

I was only typing "/dev/hda" when I need to type "fdisk /dev/hda". I'm learning...
