AbiWord help (URGENT)

Okay, so I just typed a paper due tomorrow...and for some reason AbiWord does not print out my top margin! It is set to 1", A4 size paper. The print command, if relevant, is the default lpr (I am using CUPS...should I change this? If so, what to?).

Most print formatting problems come from differencs between page setup and printer setup. I shouldn't think this would have anything to do with your print command or cups, as I've never had a problem personally with any of that. I do not however use AbiWord so I am flying blind.

My guess is that while you have your page layout set to A4, your printer setup may have a different paper setting. Change directories to /etc/cups/ppd and you'll find a file like yourprintername.ppd

Open this file in an editor, and make sure the DefaultPageSize, DefaultImageableArea, DefaultPaperDimension and DefaultPageRegion flags are set to A4. If they are, and you still have problems, check your printer manual to see what the minimum print range is for your printer. It may be that you are trying to print to a region of the page that your printer is unable to reach.

If all else fails, try printing your document in a different wordprocessor such as OpenOfficer Writer, or a desktop publisher like Scribus. Both should be able to do margins with ease.
