With my monitor and video card (Hitachi CM753 & GF3 Ti500), I know my monitor can refresh at higher than 85hz at 1024x768. However, whenever I play Quake3, the refresh is stuck at 85hz. Even if I remove other resolutions from the X config and leave 1024x768, the refresh rate will still be stuck at 85hz.
I know the exact horizontal and verital syncronization rates (specific in Xfree's config), so I can't figure out why X won't use anything higher than 85hz. If anyone can point to where I can make changes, I'd appreciate it.

For some reason, the max refresh X will use is 85Hz unless you use modelines for the diff res you use. The following link generates modelines that give the best refresh rate possible for your monitor specs at diff res's.

Looks like what I'm looking for, but where (in XF86Config) do I insert all these modeline settings?
