Every time I start KDE 3, ksplash crashes just before it is finished. I get this error with every user. Does anyone know what is wrong???

Are you sure it's every time or just the first time. I think there is a known bug of the splash screen crashing the first time you log in. I've had the same on different distro's and KDE3. But after the first time every thing was ok. If it keeps crashing, consider disabling the splash screen. It's a waste of time anyway ;-)

btw, the startup time of KDE3 can be shortened dramatically:

Thanks for the link +BroNNoS+, that startup script is awesome. Takes me 2 seconds from launching X Windows to being at my desktop.

It crashes every time, but I'll look into that fast start-up. Who needs ksplash anyway?? :P
