Well, after successfully running gentoo for about 3 or 4 months, I stupidly axed my /bin/install program. Its really gone so I can't get it back. Makes updating software kinda hard . Anyways, how can I get it back on this system without starting fresh?
Thanks!

Do you still have a stage tarball lying around? Or an install CD or something? Assuming your stage tarball is in ~/stage.tbz2 (any stage should do), try this: Code: | # cd /
# tar xvjf ~/stage.tbz2 bin/install |
...that should get you back up and running. Once that's done, you might want to remerge fileutils. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
