I don't know if anyone's noticed this yet, however, since it's not fixed, I assume that it hasn't been (or that it's just not high up on the priority list).

If this has already been brought up, please forgive me. I'm not sure where to post this either. It's not really a bug related to Gentoo, more so just a part of their website.

There seems to be a problem with Gentoo.org's online package database (packages.gentoo.org) when it displays the "Homepage" hyperlinks for ebuilds that have two or more homepages.

The web page seems to just take the "HOMEPAGE" variable from the ebuild file and put as the url for the link.

Thus, something like:
Code:
<a href="HOMEPAGE">Home page</a>

where HOMEPAGE is the string value found in the ebuild for HOMEPAGE.

However, some ebuilds contain more than one url in this variable. For example, sys-kernel/gentoo-sources has the HOMEPAGE variable, "http://www.gentoo.org http://www.kernel.org"

This produces the following hyperlink:
Code:
<a href="http://www.gentoo.org http://www.kernel.org">Home page</a>

Basic knowledge of HTML will tell you that this is not right. And clicking the hyperlink will obviously give you a 404 error from the first URL listed (in this case, gentoo.org).

To see it in action for yourself, these are a couple ebuilds that exhibit this:
sys-kernel/gentoo-sources
games-fps/blackshades-cvs

Try following the "Home page" hyperlink for either of these packages. (I'm using Mozilla Firebird, but it shouldn't make a difference)

This is more an asthetics thing, and is not really life threatening. However, I thought that I'd just bring it to your attention.

I can confirm this bug.

However this forum isn't the right place to report it.

right on packages.gentoo.org you'll find a line at the bottom of the screen stating:

Questions, Comments, Corrections? Email marduk@gentoo.org
I guess it would be best if you reported this bug to this email address.
