Then again it's the law in China.

Let's take this a step further, let's take an Islamic militant from Palestine. Let's also go back to the guy who bombed the fed building in Oklahoma City.

Dear George Bush;

My name is Akashmed Omar Mohammed Almo bin Shaka, and I am writing this letter with regards to the outrage by the US government in not giving Timothy McVeigh a martyr's burial. We had a man who was put do death for something he believes in, and I find it offensive in the manner in which he was put to death and not given a proper burial. I am appalled by the current law in the United States regarding such matters.

I also respectfully request that you evaluate your system of punishment and honor burials for such bombers as the United States is a signed member of the UN humanitarian treatment treaty. You MUST give martyrs an honorable death and burial. To do so otherwise is NOT humane and an outrage!

Sincerely yours,

Akashmed Omar Mohammed Almo bin Shaka

PS - I find the following US laws offensive as well, please change them.
When a person is found guilty, I would suggest their hand be cut off. For US copyright law and the RIAA suing people over music we find that extremely offensive make it so that there is no copyright, for traffic violations there should be a death penalty, for failure of someone to recognize Islam as the true faith we demand that person be murdered.

*George Bush
"WOW, we had it ALL WRONG, let's institute this right away!!!

And you havent been fired!?! Most companies would fire you on the spot for suggesting the use of a competitors product.

Back on topic:

Erik, you are a valuble member of our forums, and it would suck to see you go. This has already thrown the forums into disary. Look at all the new sugestion topics. Most of them were started by members with >100 posts, and one person used their first post to make a sugestion. how can you know whats best for a comunity before you been an active participant?[/ramling]

Anyway, I will join in with the (hopefully-not-so) silent majority and say that no one should be flogged. Since they signed the UN thing, they should be placed under economic sacntions until that is revoked.

I would feel the same way about Iraq, but the UN couldnt control sadom. Also, sadom was much closer to hitler and needed to be removed with force. Ethinic clensing is just a euphamism for geneside. Infact there are several paralels: the invasion of a weaker country, the gassings, the tortures, the rapes. Those happened to THOUSANDS of people including women and children. I feel that WMD were the least of the reasons to go in there. Unfortunately, most people in america are quite selfcentered and wouldnt care about those people half way around the world. sad but true. That is why they (not just bush) had to overstate the evidance to get sadom, and that is why nothing is going to happon to save that girl. I dont like it any more that you do, but we have to deal with it.

Unless,of course, you can start an ad campain to get people to petion the gov't/UN. Since it is America, it would have to have a catchy tune and some catch phrases to get people motivated. Id gladly sign, but as a minor for the next 6 months, my singnature is comletely useless.

PS> Good luck in whatever life brings your way! You have helped far more than your fair share of people in these forums, and brought your quirqyness to these forums. Please at least stay for the support forums. Im sure the people in OTW make up a minority of the total forum users, and a good deal of posters never venture down here. Dont punish them for the opinions of a few.

PPS> If i seem more than mildly incoherent, it is b/c It is 12:45AM, and Ive bee getting like 5hrs of sleep for the past several nights.

All I saw in that thread is 'Oh, she break the law, she deserves punishment'. But, to the facts (as you can find there), Sudam agreed to the humans rights, so also agreed that no one should be target to any violent or outrageus punishment (HRD article 5), and flogging is an violent and an outrageous punishment, whatever culture or religion you are in. Unless you think that it is not violent or outrageous. If so, convience us.

We don't have the death penalty in my country.
Some states in the U.S. do have the death penaly.
Couldn't this be seen as violent and outrageous too, and as such, a contravention to human rights as outlined in (HRD article 5) ?

It in fact is seen as a violation of Human Rights and a barbaric act by at least a lot of Europeans, me included. I don't know of austalians or other places opinion on the issue since I've not been there.

I don't think you would find many Australians who would support the death penalty. As far as I am concerned, murder is never justified.

I think it is violent, and outrageous if it is broacasted, and don't suport it. I also don't think that many brazilian will suport it either, but i can be wrong.

Sad to see you go...

On the other topic. Islamic (and other religious) countries should be freed from that religious nonsense by whatever means available, their people educated, their industry boosted by massive investments, etc.

I support death penalty. Here in Belgium we had that child abuser and killer [I don't want to type all the story, it's long and disgusting] well, if there was a petition to have him dead I'm sure it'd happily get about 3,000,000 sigs in no time (on 10,000,000 inhabitants).

But I don't support flogging as a public penalty. In private, well, educate your kids as you see fit, and flogging is easier than reasoning --or maybe your kids are too stupid to try reasoning. But that depends SO much on every case... One example : those (warning! stereotype ahead!) arab/turks/whatever immigrants, they are poor, their kids spend all their time on the streets dealing crack and racketting everyone in sight that does not seem to carry WMDs in one's pocket, yet at home they're perfect kids! The magic of stupid flogging. Their fathers beat them for little or no reason; they are savage beasts, and at home they're Good Boys(C)(P)(R)TM because there is another, stronger beast to control them. And when they calm down, around 25-30, they marry and have kids and they do the exact same thing.

On public flogging : well, stop that, it's unethical because it means that everyone who goes flog people (no matter what they did) AND is NOT a victim of the flogged one's actions has no empathy whatsoever, or maybe sees so-called criminals as not humans (reminder : the people in charge of WWII camps used to call the soon-to-die people "Stück", that is, "piece". Not human, either). Thus, IMO a flogger is not better than a genocider, idf this is how they see the people they beat. And if they still see them as humans, then they're not human by my definition ([sarcasm]and therefore should be exterminated[/sarcasm]).

On the reason why the girl is flogged:
WTF?! She's 16, so she's legal, right? (My opinion : there should be some sort of medical - physical and psychological - test applied to everyone each year from 12 to 16 to get a sex license, granted by default at 16 anyway save in cases of mental retardation and heavy psychological problems.) What is the problem with you religious people? Do your gods really care about what you do with your dick/pussy/other? And what concern is it to you anyway? Grrr! People who are that concerned with other peoples' sex lives should go see a therapist! And that also applies to your gods! And I mean it.
Your statistics of "less fornication, less divorces, stabler families" - bullshit. Ich glaube keine Statistik das ich nicht selbst gefälscht habe. German for "I don't believe any statistic that I didn't falsify myself". Stabler families and fewer divorces? Yes, when abusive people can't be divorced from, that's easy to say. Less fornication? Yeah, sure, restrict peoples' freedom to fuck, a natural and normal thing that brings no harm and only pleasure, available freely or for a charge, that can be practiced by anyone, without any training, it's evil. No flashing titties? What, you're so neurotic that seeing a woman's breasts offends you? Your mother is a woman, you know. And yes, she has tits. Unless she cut them off at some point in sacrifice to God, in which case I apologize.

Blah. I can go on forever on this. But then so can everyone...

No, Gandalf, I'm not a necromant.

I support death penalty in really extreme, incurable cases of high danger to society/people.

And my sig, it was intended to be ironic. Should I point that out explicitly in it?
