Alright I have a friend who is trying on Phong's guide, using the tomsrtbt disk. Things were going fine until fdisk wouldn't see his SCSI hard drive. He has an HP Vectra 5/75 with an AMD pcscsi card that he hooked up his drive to.
He's tried 'fdisk /dev/sda' and every other /dev/sd* combination you can think of.
I didn't see any mention of scsi in Tom's FAQ. Does it support SCSI hard drives?
edit: perhaps I should have forked this into a new thread. :p
another edit: I had previously installed debian onto this box, which is still there, so the disk is working etc. |

I found that message in the tomsrtbt mailling list archives. I've sent it to my amigo and we'll see if he can change whatever setting Tom was referring to. |

Meh Tom suggested getting the patches/add-ons for his disk. I'm leaving it up to my compadres to figure it out. |
