I don't have a network, and the idea of gentoo sound great is there a way of doing it from a modem, and not a network at all  |

You will probably to at least borrow need a decent network for some period of time to download essential sources, but it is possible to do the bulk of a Gentoo install without a high-speed network connection. Check out the Gentoo FAQ - along with lots of other useful information, there's a question in there called "I have only slow modem connection at home. Can I download sources somewhere else and add them to my system?" that sounds like it applies to you. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
