|
|
Hi folks!
First of all: Thanks for reading this!
This is my Problem:
I recently installed the 2.6.0 Kernel and was pleased with the increase of speed!
but i noticed that my clock would always jump two seconds instead of one, i.e. it is twice as fast as it should be!
I experimented a little bit with the realtimeclock settings and other kernelstuff to no avail. Slowly I am getting really frustrated with this thing! 2.6 is so much better because of all the new hardwaresupport that 2.4.22 does not have! Ireally want it to run (more or less smoothly )
If anybody ever had this problem before or could give me some advice/hint?!
Thanks in advance,

Yes! Gentoo-Sources-2.4.22 do work very well! I just cannot compile support for USB and/or FireWire, because after the booting process the keyboard is locked. That's why I wanted to switch to 2.6.0. everyting works like a charm, except for the overall system speed and the clock, of course...

I did that too with quite less agressive CFLAGS, but it did not change anything.
It must be something in the kernel, because when I boot, the curser in the bottom left corner already blinks twice as fast as with the 2.4.22-kernel.
I would post my kernelconfig, but I thought maybe someone knew the problem and could help me without. If needed I will of course post the whole thing in here...
Thank you anyway,

I'm using 2.6.0 and I always had a similar problem. But after installint ntpd and removing /etc/adjtime now the clock is running just fine |
