Every time I try to boot Gentoo from grub, I get the error
Error register initrd: Already started.
after a few seconds, it sends me back to grub and then if I select Gentoo again it works fine. It’s really annoying to have to press enter twice every time I boot
If I let the grub timeout run, I get the same error, then if I try to boot again it says
You need to load your kernel first. Press any key to continue.
But this only happens with Gentoo, Booting into Kubuntu with grub works without any issues
I’ve searched around but couldn’t find any relevant info
I'm also using the kubuntu grub, as my gentoo grub is just broken when trying to boot gentoo with "systemd-boot: Assertion 'device' failed at ../systemd-stable-254.17/src/boot/efi/part-discovery.c:251@partition_open, halting." and I can't seen to fix it |

I browsed this thread in passing, and came across https://github.com/ipxe/ipxe/discussions/915.
Despite the fact it's about IPXE booting, it might be relevant. I notice it refers to systemd-boot.
I've no idea what it actually means though! _________________ Greybeard |
