I'm using 2.4.20 right now, and was going to wait a month untill I got my new computer to switch over to 2.6 . But seems that 2.6 is quite the nice, so I decided to give it a try right now insted.

Waiting for all the modules and what not to compile... Is it just me or is it fun to watch things compile. :D

I'm using 2.6.0-mm1 because it has the nforce2 network driver included.

The drivers that aren't included are a pain, though:

ivtv
pcHDTV HD-2000
Nvidia graphics (for my 440MX card)

The first two are open source, so I'm hoping that they'll eventually be included. In all three cases, there are reports of success with 2.6.0, but you have to track down special patches. I may have to go back to 2.4 for the graphics driver, as MythTV needs an older version that actually works nicely with the card's TV-out (doing overscan and such).

I've been running 2.6 for a month now and I must say I am impressed; everythings works so much better than 2.4, and networking support is really great (diffserv, NAT, everything).

The only problem was a db error while emerging gnucash - had to switch back to 2.4 to build the binary package. Other than this, thumbs up!

Of course, 2.6 love-sources all the way baby ! (the only kernel in my /boot, that's how much I trust the 2.6 kernel).I've been using 2.6 since test9.

No ATA
Can Not emerge libwww-perl
No Sound
devfs obsolete udev not ready !!!

Really want native ATA cdr dvdr support.
I did a clean install with 2.6 going to dualboot to 2.4 and keep hacking away at my 2.6 problems.

If I could get my SBLive card and Eterm/xterm/aterm to work under 2.6, I'd use it always. But for now, I have to reboot to 2.4.20 to play Neverwinter Nights.

2.6.1-mm4
couldn't be happier...

except that i had to downgrade ACME to 2.0.4 (not related to kernel issues, jussayin) in order to keep my "volume up" working!

I updated my kernel from 2.4-something to 2.6 once I heard it had been released.

I've been playing with it since the first 2.6 tests came out. Destroyed myself several times, but finally got 2.6.7 going :)

Went from 2.4.22 (gentoo-sources) to 2.6.5 (gentoo-dev-sources) a few months ago, now using 2.6.7 (love-sources)... 2.6.8-rc2-love3 and 2.6.7-gentoo-r11 are the only two kernels in my /boot.
