I am having issues syncing a system's gentoo repository using Git. The system has issues because it uses a transparent proxy. I have been looking around on the Wiki and I am not sure where I can set options for eselect repository and how it uses Git. I want to try disabling HTTP 2 here, but I am not sure how to do this or change the Git repository origin settings.

It would also be good if I could change things so that restarting this finishes things where they left off. When this fails I am required to do the whole transfer again, and this is wasteful. I thought this might be what the sync-depth setting for the repo was, but changing it seems to have no effect.

You write that the system uses a transparent proxy. Can you avoid that? Git has support for explicit proxies, and perhaps if you told it to connect to the proxy and to ask the proxy to connect to the origin, the transfer would work properly. Transparent proxies are often finicky, especially when dealing with https.
Does git ls-remote origin also fail? That should (I think) be a fairly cheap operation, which you could use to test potential fixes. |
