Since the previous world upgrade my desktop PC hangs during shutdown or reboot. If I press "ESC" while the Plymouth shutdown screen appears I see the following messages | Code: | [ OK ] Stopped user Login Management.
[ OK ] Started Show Plymouth Screen.
[ *** ] A stop job is running for User Manager for UID 1000 (42s / 2 min) |
. journalctl -b -1 --priority warning after the next boot shows a lot of warnings or even severe messages, but I believe the most relevant to the actual problem are | Code: | Apr 06 17:13:55 matthias-pc systemd[983]: app-org.kde.kleopatra-ec960cb5af8349369b1c831c0fbbf2a3.scope: Stopping timed out. Killing.

I am only guessing here, but this is the only message which is related to some kind of timeout.
How do I debug that problem further? Why does Kleopatra suddenly has problems to exit normally when requested? How do I solve that problem? |

Suggestion:
| Code: | emerge -ca sys-boot/plymouth
emerge -ca kde-apps/kleopatra |
should solve your immediate problem. But, be sure to read the output of those two commands to be sure they don't do anything else you don't want done.
