using this profile atm - system is working great.
are there any possibilities to prepare my current system before initiating the switch?
e.g. USE flags changes and such - gcc - binutils - glibc - glib etc.
maybe i can save much time doing so, without -e @world !?

Unless you know how to identify the packages that are impacted by the change, you're stuck with --emptytree, perhaps excluding gcc and glibc you rebuilt at step 9.
p.s. better go for the binary packages as even with them and a powerful CPU with 16 threads and 32GB RAM it took me ~6 hours. And read the instruction veeery carefully, several times before executing step 9.
