Hello,
I have emerged wayland but Mate didn't work and changed to Xorg, but no changes.
I am trying to start GUI from console
startx >
startx command not found.
What logs do I need to provide ?
Added dbus in startup.
Changed FILE ~/.xinitrc
exec mate-session
But no changes. |

wayland is not a program so you can not "install" it. It is an protocol that is implemented by compositors like Sway. But Mate brings no compositor that implements wayland.

Are you sure you emerged x11-base/xorg-server? Looks very much like you didn't. |

Yes, i emerged xorg-server. This is not my first attempt to install Gentoo.
I know what's wayland, I changed USE flag from wayland to X, and re-emerged world, OK ? |

It is an protocol that is implemented by compositors like Sway. | However, for the sake of confusion, there does exist a Gentoo package dev-libs/wayland, so it is actually possible for a user to emerge wayland and have something happen. That something may not be useful, but a user who says "I have emerged wayland" can be literally correct. |

But the error message says /usr/bin/X does not exist... _________________
