The firefox-bin package is just the binary you can download from the official firefox website.
For licensing reasons no one can redistribute a firefox package compiled with the official logo.

Code:
zucca@NBLK-WAX9X ~ $ eshowkw firefox
Keywords for www-client/firefox:
           |                               |   u       |
           | a   a     p s     l r   a     |   n       |

-----------+-------------------------------+-----------+-------
   121.0.1 | ~ o ~ o o ~ o ~ o o ~ o o o o | 8 o rapid | gentoo

If you accept ~ then you can get the latest, but it is exactly that - latest, but not nightly at least.
ESR versions can be viewed like lts versions of linux kernel.

You need to pastebin the whole log. At least I'm not able to pinpoint what went wrong from that alone.

Code:
Current CFLAGS:      -O3 -march=native -mtune=native -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe

Try with less aggressive optimisation -O2 maybe?

You're hitting a clang bug with older processors, bug here: https://bugs.gentoo.org/838373

Either compile with GCC (-clang use flag) or set specific -march value for Firefox.

Not sure if it helps, but you can find firefox build infos by entering about:buildconfig in url bar. (The about:about url lists all about: available in firefox)

There is a difference between the rapid and esr releases.

Gentoo firefox is stable at esr, and keyworded for rapid.

Gentoo firefox-bin is stable at rapid.

A lot of people prefer the esr release, that is also easier now with www-client/firefox:esr , before you needed to intervene to keep your firefox at esr. As an example, my desktop Gentoo is keyworded ~amd64, to keep my www-client/firefox install at esr I emerge www-client/firefox:esr and it just works.

packages.gentoo.org is your friend, as is understanding the current upstream firefox release schedule.
