|

Hey, i've just installed a new Gentoo system with Systemd. The system has some odd processes from Systemd. I haven't seen this issue before and i have multiple Gentoo systems running with Systemd. This setup is a server system without any graphical output. Something seems to be broken with this latest setup.
ps x | grep '[w]ait' shows this:
Code: | 4301 ? S 0:00 systemd-userwork: waiting...
4382 ? S 0:00 systemd-userwork: waiting...
4419 ? S 0:00 systemd-userwork: waiting...
4420 ? S 0:00 systemd-userwork: waiting...
4483 ? S 0:00 systemd-userwork: waiting...

I've searched the net for this issue but haven't found much. It seems to be related to systemd-userdbd.socket but that's pretty much the only info i've found.
There is a single message in the Journal that might be related:
Code: | systemd[1403]: Failed to attach 1403 to compat systemd cgroup /user.slice/user-1000.slice/user@1000.service/init.scope: Permission denied |
This message is only showing up once per boot up. The number of these processes is constantly changing but it's between 3 and 6 mostly. I can't pinpoint the source of this.
This is my set of USE flags for systemd:
Code: | [ebuild R ] sys-apps/systemd-254.7:0/2::gentoo USE="acl cgroup-hybrid cryptsetup curl dns-over-tls elfutils gcrypt kmod lz4 lzma openssl pam pcre resolvconf seccomp sysv-utils zstd -apparmor -audit -boot -fido2 -gnutls -homed -http -idn -importd -iptables -kernel-install -pkcs11 -policykit -pwquality -qrcode -secureboot (-selinux) (-split-usr) -test -tpm -ukify -vanilla -xkb" ABI_X86="(64) -32 (-x32)" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python3_11 -python3_10 (-python3_12)" |
Anyone having a similiar issue and knows how to fix this? Is this even an issue? |

It might actually be related. Haven't found that bug when searching. But i am not having any other issues beside these processeses. It's starting ok. This single error seems actually be related to me using cgroup-hybrid. This was once needed for Docker. Might be obsolete.
Thanks allot for the link. I'll wait to the next version to become stable. |
