I get that when I use rc to switch runlevels and I have a few I have set up for testing various stuff.
Call me lazy but I am so used to typing 'rc' that typing openrc seems laborious.
Code: |
equery belongs /sbin/rc |
gives me
Code: |
* Searching for /sbin/rc ...
sys-apps/openrc-0.45.2-r1 (/sbin/rc) |
It makes me wonder why have to type openrc then? Is Gentoo planning on supporting another rc along side of openrc? Seems unlikely.
Or is a future release of openrc going to make /sbin/rc do something different?
Can I just make an alias in my bashrc?
alias rc="/sbin/openrc"
Thanks in advance. _________________ Donate to Gentoo

Perhaps the idea might be to avoid confusion with the plan9 shell, 'rc' .... ? |
