OK... Many of you helped me through a painful world update yesterday, and now I am running into a problem with a kernel update.
I've recompiled everything (moving from zen 6.2.13 to zen 6.6.3 with genkernel) and need to update grub. Previously I ran into no problems, but am seeing grub-mkconfig barf an error: Code: | /etc/grub.d/bin/grubcfg_proxy: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory | and am not certain how to proceed.
I thought before I try brute forcing my way through this, I'd seek some guidance...
Thanks again! |

Where did you get this /etc/grub.d/bin/grubcfg_proxy file from? It does not appear to be part of a standard grub build. |

Excellent question - it seems I installed grub-customizer from an overlay some time ago... should I reinstall grub? FWIW: Code: | ~ » emerge --search sys-boot/grub
[ Results for search key : sys-boot/grub ]
Searching...
* sys-boot/grub
Latest version available: 2.06-r9
Latest version installed: 2.06-r9
Size of files: 8,187 KiB
Homepage: https://www.gnu.org/software/grub/
Description: GNU GRUB boot loader
License: GPL-3+ BSD MIT fonts? ( GPL-2-with-font-exception ) themes? ( CC-BY-SA-3.0 BitstreamVera ) | so it looks like I have the latest and greatest grub...
How do I go about finding the source for grub-customizer and uninstalling it? I've searched using emerge --search and it comes up blank. |

If you installed from an overlay, then just emerge -c grub-customizer should work.
If it does not work, then remove the files from /etc/grub.d/ that are not part of qlist -e grub |grep grub.d/
Edit: This is likely due to the overlay not including a CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK env.d entry so such scripts could be removed on package deletion. |

Alright - that did it. I was able to find a grub-customizer tar gz file, so will have to clean that mess up manually... however fixing the content of /etc/grub.d fixed the problem - thanks very much! |
