Nowhere near enough information there shoebill_j
How have you tried to configure WPA_Supplicant, how are you starting it, what is the device, the environment?
Start at the beginning and post the output of:
then
- lf lshw doesn't exist on your system, it's worth installing Code: | emerge -a sys-apps/lshw |
Everything is easier once the hw is known. And you can ensure you have the right bits turned on in the kernel...
if everything is ok in the kernel, it might just be settings, so run this and post the result
then give us a look at Code: | cat /etc/conf.d/wpa_supplicant | Code: | cat /etc/conf.d/net | Code: | cat /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf |
If you've put your PSK in wpa_supplicant.conf edit the info out before pasting here!
And probably someone other than me (who is going to bed) will be able to put you on the right track. |

shoebill_j,
wpa_supplicant deals with the crypto once the kernel driver and firmware are loaded.
Its the kernel driver and firmware loading/unloading that make your interface appear/disappear.
What command did you use to see that the interface exists? _________________ Regards,
