I have recently switched to KDE Plasma after years in XFCE. It is really nice with the look and feel and apparent integration, but....

KMail version 5.23.3 does not reliably get the mail from the 4 IMAP Servers I have added.
It works away syncing with the server, but no new Email appears. I can check this in my browser.
If I restart KMail it usually wakes up and works, but not always.

Here is the output of akonadictl command

Code:
akonadictl fsck 2>&1 | grep ^Found

Found 60725 external files.
Found 60725 external parts.
Found no unreferenced external files.
Found 0 parts to be moved to external files
Found 0 parts to be moved to database
Found 1 collections without RID.
Found 0 items without RID.
Found 0 dirty items.

Would it be worth delaying the start of KMail for a rew seconds to allow akonadi to sort itself out?

Does anyone have any workaround for this?

By transitioning to an alternative email client you can reduce stress and frustration.
Users of Plasma and other KDE software often prefer LibreOffice over Calligra, Firefox over Konqueror, and the same holds true for KMail.

I have to say you are absolutely correct, @spica, and I have installed Thunderbird, but kept KMail running too just to see how bad it really is!

Thanks you for taking the time to reply

Kmail Version 6.0.1 (24.02.1)

Still broken in many ways, crashes often, especially in Configure Kmail.

I use Yahoo email for testing purposes, cannot set up yahoo Oauth2 in Kmail.

Although tricky, you can paste an image into an email now, it was on my showstopper list.

Every time I go into Configure Kmail it offers to save settings that never got applied 8O

Maybe next month, I've been watching Kmail for several years, and like @FrancisGreaves I use Thunderbird in the interim.
