I am not quite up to speed as far as some ethernet stuff goes, but I was just curious to ask whether the Gentoo 1.1a ISO has support for the FA-311 network card. And does the kernel that now is default for Gentoo 2.4.19-r1 also have support built in?
Have people had success with this card? Any problems?
I have an older Pentium 133 with 96megs of ram that I want to setup as a server of sometype, probably web / dns and just something to learn on while I play on my main system that I don't want to leave security holes open on.

Thanks,
Andrew

I believe the Netgear 311 uses the natsemi driver, which is included in the kernel tree and i'm 99% sure it is included on the Gentoo install cd. I have the card, seems to run fine, no problems.

My netgear 311 is sitting in my p180 with 40MB of RAM, also running Gentoo. You should be fine. :) My CD drive in my p180 isn't bootable, so I followed the no boot CD guide @ https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=82

Thanks a bunch man!
My cd isn't bootable either, but I will just work with the other install ways.
