Hi there.
I'm having Problems installing Lirc on my system.
I use the Lirc-ebuild and select the lirc_serial driver. everything compiles fine and the lirc_serial module is loaded perfectly (after what dmesg sys).
But there is no /dev/lirc.
After looking around in the lirc_serial source code I found out that devfs support is not included there.
As I don't have to good knowledge about devfs I wonder if there is a posibility to create that device without having devfs support in the module itself.

I have a /dev/lirc, but it's a directory
# ls -l /dev/lirc*
srw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Aug 25 18:41 /dev/lircd
/dev/lirc:
total 0
crw------- 1 root root 61, 0 Jan 1 1970 0
and I cannot even move or remove it |
