biglybt as replacement for vuze/azureus

Has anyone had any luck migrating to biglybt from vuze? Biglybt is the recommended client for
people who were on vuze, which is now no longer supported upstream. Biglybt installs fine, but
when run it comes up with

"StartServer ERROR: unable to bind to 127.0.0.1:6880 listening for passed
torrent info: sun.net.spi.nameservice.NameServiceDescriptor: Provider
com.biglybt.core.util.spi.AENameServiceDescriptor not found
There appears to be another process already listening on socket
[127.0.0.1:6880]"

There's nothing listening on 6880, and trying to change the port seems to fail.

Found this in biglybt-3.2.0.0-r2.ebuild:

# Due to removal of AENameServiceDescriptor it would fail to start under jdk:1.8
# StartServer ERROR: unable to bind to 127.0.0.1:6880 listening for passed torrent info:

And in /usr/share/biglybt:
VM=">=virtual/jre-1.8:*"
TARGET="1.8"
SOURCE="1.8"

So I'm guessing this just isn't going to work.

FWIW, I downloaded the installer script from biglybt.org (BiglyBT_Installer.sh) and ran that.
Installation was seemless and it's now running better than vuze.

I'm sure one day there will be an ebuild that works. Until then, the manual install is fine.

If you're hitting a problem, you should file a bug on bugs.gentoo.org (also note that above the RDEPEND the JDK dep is indeed for 11).
