Is there any recent solution for this to fix?
Upgrade to ~ or downgrade to version from layman? _________________ cogito ergo sum |

I don't really know for sure. I guess you may try and experiment with it. According to that link, it was working previously for some users. I believe, but am not certain, that the Flatpak is just an extraction of the Ubuntu snap format. I think they extract the squash file. That is also the case with the Arch Linux aur package, which users have reported is not working either.
I don't know if anyone has ever gotten Snap store to work on Gentoo. I certainly have no desire to. You could look into that or you could set up a quick Ubuntu virtual machine and try the Snap version that way. Personally, I use Virtualbox, but most users probably use Qemu. I know that will not help much, but will at least tell you if the Snap version is working.
I think the issue may be that they have hardcoded a Snap path into the package. If Snap is not found, the program fails. That prevents users not using Snap store from using the program. |

Ah, ok. Good to know! I didn't delve into it that deeply.
You could always consider converting to systemd if it is that important to you.
Even better:
If it is really important to you, you could, if possible, clone your system to another drive and experiment that way. You could also experiment with a gentoo installation using systemd in a virtual machine, provided you have the desire and time.
Good luck! |
