Install on Imac 5.1

I am trying to install Gentoo on my Imac 5.1, but it doesn't boot from the cd with install-powerpc-minimal...iso
It boots fine from an iso with x86 and x64_86.
What shall I do?

The iMac 5.1 is an Intel-based iMac, you should be using the x86_64 iso not the PPC.

Ok!!? So I should use the x86-64 minimal-install-cd, the stage 3 and follow the hand-book for that architecture too, installing on my Imac 5.1 (is it not a PPC??)

Unless you have an iMac G3, G4, or G5 (the G series is PowerPC), then it is amd64 arch until the 2021 24" model (2021 changed to arm64 based Apple M1).

So the answer is yes.

Edit: The first Intel iMac with a Core Duo (not Core 2 Duo) is x86 arch only.
