Hey guys,

I've been using Gentoo for a couple of weeks now and I love it. I've tried to do everything "properly" upon installation and it's really paid off.

What's been bugging me, however, is that I can't seem to figure out how to use herbstluftwm alongside KDE properly. I've just set

KDEWM=herbstluftwm

and launch KDE with startx. My ~/.xinitrc is

exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session startplasma-x

While herbstluft is indeed recognized, and even the desktop switcher works, the panels are passed through herbstluft and therefore do not appear at their correct locations. Is there any way to make herbstluft ignore the KDE panels?
