After the upgrade to 5.4.2753.28, I get nothing but a pure white screen.
Of note;
Code: |
# ldd /opt/vivaldi/libGLESv2.so

And then:
Code: |
$ /usr/bin/vivaldi
'Proprietary media' support is not installed. Attempting to fix this for the next restart.

I have nothing related to wayland instaled. Does this represent a missed (new) dependency? |

We don't get the same errors, but I find that vivaldi loads and runs fine. Do you have www-plugins/chrome-binary-plugins installed? It's a dependency of a vivaldi use flag.
Code: | $ grep vivaldi /etc/portage/package.use
www-client/vivaldi proprietary-codecs widevine |
If it's any help, here are the errors I see starting from a terminal shell:
Code: | $ vivaldi

I have no interest in those (given the number of web sites that want to "automatically" play video, I prefer to leave it as disabled as possible).

Thanks. That does tell me that the failure doesn't come from the missing libwayland-client.so.0 library (although it doesn't give me much help as to locating the source of the problem). I had always had the "Failed to connect to the bus" and "Failed to call method" messages before,but Vivaldi always ran until the upgrade to 5.4. |
