|
|
I am using CUPS and the KDE printing manager.
I am trying to get a printed working in Gentoo, but so far without success. I have an Epson Stylus series printer on a windows98 box on the home network which I could print to using Redhat and possibly my last install of Gentoo as well, but now nothing happens. The cups logs say
Code: | I [12/Aug/2002:21:00:30 +0100] Job 16 queued on 'epson' by 'mp'.
E [12/Aug/2002:21:00:30 +0100] Unable to convert file 0 to printable format for
job 16! |
I have ghostscript installed as instructed. The more detailed log level reveals that the file was sent as postscript and then was rejected as unable to be converted. Any ideas?
Also, I notice that when going to add a new printer that the Local Printer (parallel, serial or USB) option is greyed out. I can't find any relevant use flags, so how to I convince cups to compile a local backend as well as the 6 different remote ones?
I have tried lprng as an alternative, but couldn't find any drivers.
Can anyone help? _________________ Cheers, MP |
